Carica papaya

For warts, cancers, tumors, corns, and indurations of the skin (juice); to help tumors of the uterus (sinapisms prepared from the root); to cure piles and yaws (roots); reduce urine acidity in humans (papaya); for jaundice (flowers); used in psoriasis, ringworm, and prescribed for the removal of cancerous growths (latex); to treat skin diseases, indigestion, enlargement of liver and spleen, worms, diseases of heart, cough and fever (fruit, leaves, latex and seeds);

Cichorium intybus

Vomiting (related to biliousness), headache, asthma and as a brain tonic (seed); enlarged liver, jaundice, gout and rheumatism (root decoction); kidney stones (plant decoction); in cancer, fever, sclerosis (spleen), skin maladies, abdominal pain, inflamma.

Crocus sativus

To treat chronic haemorrhages in the uterus of adults, to induce menstruation, treat period pains and calm indigestion, colic, in fevers, melancholia and enlargement of the liver. A dental analgesic is obtained from the stigmas.

Cyamopsis tetragonoloba

Removes biliousness and night-blindness (fruit); in curing sprains and swellings (soaked seeds); for the plague, enlarged livers, head-swellings and on swellings due to broken bones (boiled seeds)

Dolichos uniflorus

Measles, smallpox, burns, sores and tumors (plant); menstrual problems (plant decoction); kidney stones (seed). Ayurveda uses decoction of seed in leucorrhoea, menstrual troubles, bleeding during pregnancy, colic caused by wind, piles, rheumatism, heamorrhagic disease and for intestinal worms. Soup prepared from seeds is beneficial in enlarged liver and spleen. Tribal practices use the parts of the plant for dysuria, sores, tumours, burns, adenitis, fistula ani, intercostal neuralgia, pleurisy, piles, hiccups, abdominal lump, bronchial asthma,pneumonia, prolapsus ani, menstrual complaints, piles, colic, epistaxis, flatulence, ophthalmia, ulcers,urinary troubles and kidney stone.

Eclipta prostrata

Tetanus, baldness, long-term skin diseases, in enlargements of the liver and spleen (as a tonic and deobstruent) (plant); in catarrhal jaundice (plant juice and "aromatics"); as an antiseptic in cattle wounds etc. and in syphilis (root), removes worms, cough and indigestion, good remedy for dental disorders. Various local traditions and Ayurveda employ its parts for elephantiasis, migraine, pyorrhoea, chronic dysentery, oedema, nervous weakness, anorexia, gum troubles and to remove intestinal worms.This plant invigorates sex and consumed for fertility. It is an antidote for poisons.

Indigofera tinctoria

Epilepsy, lumbago, asthma, leucoderma, hemorrhoids and enlargement of the liver and spleen (plant); in damage to the liver (alcohol extract from plant); convulsions in infants, hysteria, chorea and amenorrhea.

Ipomoea digitata

For emaciated juveniles, debility, increases secretion of milk, enlarged liver and spleen, increases weight, moderates menstrual discharge, poor digestion, TB (plant); liver and spleen maladies, enervation and excessive menstruation (powder); bronchitis and fever (decoction); for diseases of the spleen and liver, for menorrhagia, debility and fat accumulation (powdered root)

Juniperus communis

In urinary tract diseases, dropsy, digestive maladies, maladies associated with the chills, rheumatism and body aches. Oil of Juniper is given as a diuretic, stomachic, and carminative in indigestion, flatulence, and diseases of the kidney and bladder. The oil mixed with lard is also used in veterinary practice as an application to exposed wounds and prevents irritation from flies. Spirit of Juniper is employed as a stimulating diuretic in cardiac and hepatic dropsy. The fruit is readily eaten by most animals, especially sheep, and to prevent and cure dropsy.

Solanum xanthocarpum

Cough, asthma, bronchitits, dropsy, leprosy, constipation, flatulence, sore throat, tonsilitis, gum diseases, snake bites, heart disease, chest pain, certain types of fever, muscular pains, gonorrhoea, dysuria, enlargement of the liver and spleen and stomach. Leaves are applied locally to relieve pain. The juice of berries is used in sore throat. Like roots, seeds are also administered as an expectorant in asthma and cough. The plant is credited with diuretic properties and is used to cure dropsy. Its juice is mixed with whey and ginger and given in fevers. The juice of the leaves, mixed with black pepper, is prescribed in rheumatism.
